Beyond is proud to have contributed to the development of ETI’s multi-country programme on living wages across Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan.

As part of this initiative, we collaborated with PILER to deliver the programme in two garment factories in Pakistan, located in Lahore and Karachi, with a focus on enhancing social dialogue and equipping workers to advocate for improved wages and working conditions.

The programme, launched by ETI to address the persistent gap between prevailing wages and living wages in the garment sector, ran from August 2024 to May 2025. It combined capacity building, targeted data collection, and structured consultations between brands, suppliers, and worker representatives.

Our contribution included:

  • Building the capacity of factory management, supervisors, worker representatives, and workers on international labour standards, decent work, and social dialogue;

  • Supporting in-depth data collection on wages and working conditions;

  • Facilitating constructive multi-stakeholder dialogue at factory and supply-chain levels.

We are pleased to see this work contribute to the report “Exploring the socio-economic impact of the living wage gap – case studies from Bangladesh, India & Pakistan” (8 October 2025), which highlights the realities of wage disparities in the RMG sector and offers actionable recommendations for closing the living wage gap.
